IGODAP HQ commented on Colin Hambrook's blog post 'Artists' Name... to have or have not?'
Good thoughts Colin and interesting issue - thanks for canvassing it. I think of it from the point of view of branding and finding a name that suits the brand of you or your work. It depends how much value your true identity adds to the brand (or…

Artists' Name... to have or have not?

Supporting artists to develop their artistic lives is what drives me to keep [Disability Arts Online] DAO going. It's not something I always get right... and an issue has arisen recently with an artist I am working with, that I thought I'd ask for some advice on.Identity is key and we don't always want our artist identities to be linked with our day-to-day identities for a variety of reasons. I adopted Mole as my artists' name…See More

Miro Man

I've been meaning to post a blog on IGODAP for such a long time now. Just seeing a nice comment from David Feingold on my Miro Man drawing has inspired me to say something about the drawing. It is one of a myriad of self-portraits I've done over the last few years. This one in particular is inspired by my love of Miro and has become the drawing I've used on Facebook as well as several of my blogs on…See More

miro-man-drawing

A semi-abstract drawing of a figure surrounded by stars and a curved moon. Behind him is a tree with an eye sprouting from the top of it.

Hi Colin,

I just went over to Disability Arts Online. All I can say is WOW, you are ACTIVE in the disability community. Some of this is very new to me and having some pioneers willing to share their experience and knowledge makes it A LOT easier. Being a person having to deal with this STUFF and at the same time wanting to contribute to inclusion and social awareness I can use all the information, resources and networking I can get!

Thanks Colin, You'll see me around on Disability arts Online
