Arts Funding in England - NPO 's and the future

Since January 2011 most of England's disability arts companies and practitioners have been in a state of tension awaiting the results of the National Portfolio Funding - a new system put in place by Arts Council England [ACE] in which every arts organisation has had to apply for funding from 2012 - 2015.  It was always going to be a painful experience as the government had alredy reduced funding to the arts .  I know we are extremely priviledged in the UK to have a government that puts money…

DaDaFest International - Programme launched tonight!

Well- we did it! The programme is launched for DaDaFest 2010- fantastically held at the Bluecoat Arts Centre in Liverpool. It was a good night and despite the rain we had a fairly good turnout.



I have just spent two days in London talking with some media people and key partners and venue opportunities for the next two years.


Despite the imminent spending review in the UK - we are unexpectedly feeling positive and excited about our future.…

DaDaFest 2010 - how do we cope in delivering such a thing?!

Hi Y'all,


This is my first blog on IGODAP and I thought it may be useful to try and post a little bit now and then about how DaDaFest, our disability & deaf arts festival is developing. [18th Nov to 3rd Dec].
